PhD student | Fire Risk
Anastasia Yfantidou completed her undergraduate degree at the Department of Geography at Harokopio University of Athens. She further holds an MSc degree with distinction in “Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technologies” from the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), where she is currently a PhD Candidate in “Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and Earth Observation”.
From 2018 – 2020, Anastasia was a Research Associate at CUT, while in 2019, she was seconded at Cloudsigma, Planetek Italia and Planetek Hellas, during her participation in the H2020 project “SEO-DWARF” under the framework of MSCA-RISE-2015. From December 2019 to May 2020, she was involved in the “ASTARTE” project, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Innovation Foundation. Since June 2020, Anastasia is working as a Research Associate at the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS-NOA). Her main interests lie in map production, processing of remote sensing data, monitoring of specific areas and observing their differences over time, fire risk modelling and assessment.
