Research Associate | Earth Observation and Geospatial Modelling
Michail-Christos Tsoutsos received his Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean (Lesvos, Greece) and his Master’s Degree in Geoinformatics from the School of Rural, Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, Athens, Greece).
He is a PhD Candidate in Geoinformatics and Natural Hazards at the School of Rural, Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering, NTUA. Due to his performance, he received two scholarships (2010-2011 and 2011-2012) from the State Scholarships Foundation in Greece (IKY) and two scholarships (01/03-30/06/2015 and 01/07-30/09/2015) from the European Union for his Erasmus Traineeship-Work Placement in Norway. Ηis Master's thesis investigates spatial point pattern analysis and has been published at the European Journal of Geography (https://doi.org/10.48088/ejg.m.mar.11.4.36.63). He has work experience in the field of Earth Observation and Geospatial Modelling, where it is worth noting his Erasmus Traineeship-Work Placement on topics related to GIS applications and natural hazards in the Department of Geography, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, Trondheim, Norway) and his volunteering (in the context of his military service) at the Hellenic Military Geographical Service (Athens, Greece) on topics related to GIS and Cartography. He has been working at the BEYOND Centre of EO Research and Satellite Remote Sensing of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens (IAASARS-NOA) in the scientific fields of Geoinformatics and Natural Hazards.
