Vasiliki Pagana received her Diploma (5 years Degree, Master equivalent) in Rural and Surveying Engineering (2010) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), with specialization in Hydraulic Engineering. She also holds a M.Sc. Degree in Water Resources Science and Technology (2012) from the School of Civil Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
From 2013 to 2016, she worked as a researcher in the Centre for Hydrology and Informatics (CHI) of NTUA in the field of flood modeling (EU LIFE research project FLIRE-Floods and Fire Risk assessment and management). Moreover, in the periods 2012-2013, 2016-2017, and 2016-2020 she also gained experience working as a collaborator engineer in private sector. In particular, during the period 2012-2013 she worked as a hydraulic engineer in several industrial projects while in the period 2016-2017 she worked on the assessment of flood hazard and flood risk maps in the River Basin Districts (RBD) of Central and Western Macedonia towards the implementation of the EU Directive 2007/60/EC. Furthermore, in the period 2016-2020, she worked as an engineer in projects related to land and cadastre management. She has an extensive experience in modern approaches implemented in hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modeling as well as in geospatial data management and analysis using GIS techniques. Since 2021, she joined BEYOND team of National Observatory of Athens (NOA).
