The Operational Unit BEYOND Center for Earth Observation Research and Satellite Remote Sensing at the National Observatory of Athens is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager to support project activities in all phases from proposal preparation to implementation.
Everyday activities:
We are currently looking for a Research Associate/Senior Project Manager for EU and National funded projects/ focusing on Earth Observation applications on various sectors (Fires, Floods, Agriculture, Biodiversity etc.) to join our team in Athens, Greece. The successful candidate will have the following duties and tasks, including:
- Managing the entire project lifecycle and planning its activities (EC-funded, ESA and GSRT, national and international funded Projects in the domains of EO, Space Applications, Natural Disasters, Big Data, IT, etc.)
- Delivering the required technical and management reports/deliverables of projects.
- Organise and participate in project meetings with other international organizations/consortia.
- Aligning and keeping track with projects’ activities relevant to contractual obligations at administrative and financial level and BEYOND’s vision and mission.
- Organising and supervising the projects’ teams
- Leading proposal writing activities and building consortia of partners

Qualifications:
- PhD or MSc or equivalent professional experience in one of the following domains: Engineering, Satellite Remote sensing, Natural Disasters, Geo-information, EO, IT/ICT, AI Space based applications, Project Management, or relevant domains
- Experience in managing projects, teams and proposal writing (EU, ESA, and/or other funded programmes) for at least 3-5 years.
- Self-motivated, positive attitude with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsibility, prioritization, self-discipline and commitment to work
- Fluent oral and writing English skills.
