"Dear friends, colleagues and delegates,
IGARSS 2024 has very recently closed, and we would like to take this opportunity, also on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, to thank you for participating so actively in the conference proceedings and the social events.
Over the past 3 years we have been working with only one scope: To be able to offer an ideal environment for the numerous participants that attended the symposium. The chairs of the Organizing Committee have been heavily occupied by myriads of organizational details and they did an impressive job. However, we should not omit saying that we were not alone in this journey. We had the continuous support of the GRSS Presidents and Vice Presidents, Dr. Mariko Burgin, prof Saibun Tjuatja, Dr. Sidharth Misra, and the members of GRSS Executive Committee, who have been encouraging and guiding us. We sincerely thank all of them for making this journey affordable and feasible. We would like also to extend our thanks to the two PCOs, namely Convin SA from Greece and CMS from the United States, that have undertaken over the last years the complicated process and provided logistics and staff in order to deliver the symposium with success.
But, as mentioned in several occasions, the biggest thanks go to all of you, the conference participants, from the first to the last. To the Students who attended the Summer School, to the Tutorial learners, to the 3200 conference delegates, and to the worldwide Remote Sensing community that came to Athens to live the IGARSS myth.
We hope we have met your expectations. It was not, and has not been easy, and certainly some things could have been done in a better way. Nevertheless, we tried all in our best effort to be worthy to the great honor we have been given to organize IGARSS 2024.
See you all in Brisbane dear fellows, even more numerous and even more excited to participate in IGARSS 2025.
