Nikos Svigkas received in June 2011 his degree in Geology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in January 2013 his MRes in Science of Natural Hazards from the University of Bristol, UK. In April 2013 he started his PhD at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the same year he started working on Radar Interferometry at the National Observatory of Athens. Since August 2015 he works as a research specialist at the National Observatory of Athens. His main subject is the understanding of geophysical phenomena using Remote Sensing, Geology and Seismology.
Research Interests: Crustal Deformation, SAR Interferometry, Natural Hazards monitoring, Seismology, Earthquakes, monitoring of urban subsidence, Tectonics, Neotectonics
