Haris Kontoes Charalabos (Haris) Kontoes: is a Research Director at IAASARS/NOA and holds a PhD in Remote Sensing of the Environment. He has a wide range of expertise in managing EC and ESA projects integrating advanced image processing techniques for the exploitation of high and very high spatial resolution satellite data. He has acted as national delegate in international Space fora and organisations (e.g. EC, ESA). As delegate he participated in, a) the Steering Committee of the common EU and ESA Space Program for Environment and Security, namely GMES, b) the ESA’s Program Board on Earth Observation (2002-2004), and c) acted as deputy delegate in the Joint Space Strategy Advisory Group (JSSAG). Today he assumes responsibilities as National Delegate of the Space Committee of the FP7 Program of EC. In addition he leads/coordinates all actions foreseen in the common Greece-ESA project towards establishing in Greece (at IAASARS/NOA premises) one of the Sentinels’ Mirror Site as part of the ESA’s Collaborative Ground Segment. He is author of over than 100 scientific papers presented in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Vassilis Amiridis Vassilis Amiridis: is a Senior Researcher at IAASARS/NOA with expertise in atmospheric characterization using ground-based and satellite remote sensing observations. He has participated in more than 20 national, European and international projects and experimental campaigns. He has more than 45 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 110 in conference proceedings, various scientific and technical reports and over 700 third party citations. He is a member of EARLINET council and EUFAR’s active remote sensing working group and expert group for cloud microphysics. He is a member of the editorial boards of EGU’s Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (Copernicus Publications) and of ISRN Meteorology (Hindawi Publishing Corporation).
Iphigenia Keramitsoglou Iphigenia Keramitsoglou: is a Senior Researcher at IAASARS/NOA with a strong background in Physics and Earth Observation. She is co-leader of the action on global observation of urban areas (Global Urban Observation and Information Task, SB-04) of the Group on Εarth Observation (GEO). She is also Member of the Societal Benefits Implementation Board, SBIB, of GEO international initiative. She has 35 original peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and >35 papers in conference peer-reviewed proceedings, 4 book chapters. She has extensive experience in the organization and management of research and technological development programs, as shown by her participation in 26 research programs. She is also representing IAASARS in the Greek national platform for disaster reduction (part of the international Hyogo Framework for Action – HFA).
Ioannis Papoutsis Ioannis Papoutsis: Received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and his M.Sc. in Technologies for Broadband Communication from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of University College London (UCL) in 2002 and 2003 respectively. From 2004-2006 he worked in London in the framework of a British AErospace (BAE systems) led project, while since 2007 he has been a research associate in the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing in the National Observatory of Athens (IAASARS-NOA). In 2014 he received his PhD in Monitoring Crustal Deformation with Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar, from the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of NTUA. His research interests include signal and image processing of Earth Observation imagery. He has extensive experience on working for European FP7 and Copernicus projects at IAASARS/NOA, including TELEIOS ICT, SAFER, linkER, MASSIVE and RISK-EOS. He is author of over than 30 scientific papers presented in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, and has over 150 third party citations.
Georgios Balasis Georgios Balasis: is a Senior Researcher at IAASARS/NOA with expertise in space sciences (Sun-Earth connection, dynamics of the magnetosphere), space applications (geomagnetic field, Earth Observation) and complex systems. He has published more than 30 refereed papers. He has been the convener of "Open session on Geomagnetism and Paleomagnetism" in European Geosciences Union General Assembly from 2009 to 2011 and he is the National Greek Delegate to the Programme Board of European Space Agency's Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Preparatory Programme.
Alexia Tsouni Alexia Tsouni: Received her diploma in Civil Engineering and Masters degree, from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Since 2002 Ms Tsouni has been assuming responsibilities in the realisation of Earth Observation operational & research projects at national and EU level, funded by ESA and EC and conducted in the IAASARS/NOA. Most of the projects she participated focused on risk monitoring and risk assessment, emergency response for fires, water resource management, and land use/land cover mapping.
Evangelos Gerasopoulos Evangelos Gerasopoulos: Employed at IERSD/NOA in 2006 as Senior Researcher. Promoted to Research Director in 2011. Quality Manager of the Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory/NOA. Member of the Steering Committee of the Navarino Environmental Observatory (Messenia, Greece). He is a member of the editorial board of EGU’s Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics journal (Copernicus Publications).
Zisoula Ntasiou Zisoula Ntasiou Received her diploma in Foresty and Natural Environment and Masters degree, from the Aristotele University of Thessaloniki in 1998 and 2001 respectively. Since 2002, she is an officer of the Hellenic Fire Corps and the last 12 years she work as a duty and operational officer in the Unified Coordination and Operational Center in Athens.

Konstantina Nika Konstantina Nika has a degree in Agricultural Science (Agricultural University of Athens) and a M.Sc in Water Resources Science and Technology from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She is a civil servant and she has worked for 5 year (2007-2011) in the General Secretariat for Civil Protection in the Ministry of Interior as responsible for the National Emergency Plans for all kinds of Disaster (natural hazard and technological hazard). Since 2011, she has been working for the Special Secretariat for Water in the Ministry of Environment and Energy. She is the Head of Department of Surface and Ground Water with main duties the implementation of EU Directives related to the Water like the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EU and Floods Directive 2007/60/EU. Since 2012 she is following the works of European Working Group of Floods.
