iSPEX - Measuring air pollution with your smartphone
iSPEX-EU is the first Europe-wide citizen campaign of the iSPEX project. iSPEX-EU aims to form a network of thousands of people all over Europe that perform iSPEX measurements and provide information at locations and times that are not covered by current air pollution monitoring efforts – and we need your help! By joining iSPEX-EU you can be part of a major project to help understand our atmosphere and make an important scientific contribution!
Athens is one of the cities that participate in the iSPEX-EU 2015. We welcome you to join its local campaign and measure Athens skies from 1 September to 15 October!
ONE step... BEYOND Workshop, 15 October 2015, ESRIN, Frascati, Italy
One of the main BEYOND dissemination events will take place at ESA premises at Frascati, on 15 October 2015. This workshop will provide an insight at the pre-operational and operational services delivered by the BEYOND Center of Excellence (http://beyond-eocenter.eu/), in support of the Copernicus, and GEO initiatives, and also the institutional stakeholders, the scientific community, the end-users and the general public. The workshop will provide concrete examples of applications and products addressing the three thematic pillars of BEYOND, namely meteorological and human induced hazards, geo-hazards and atmospheric pollution and air quality hazards. It will showcase the operational capacities of BEYOND, and will identify complementarities with other scientific and research initiatives at a European and regional level towards exploiting synergies and forming sustainable collaborative networks. A number of invited talks from esteemed EC, ESA, UN, and GEO colleagues will be given. It will be also given the opportunity to invited scientific collaborators and end users of BEYOND, to present their views about the achieved service level, and the relevant research advancements in EO data exploitation that have taken place during the two years of operations of the project.
